Winter Music Conference 2001

South Beach, Miami FL

Mark Imperial & Phil K. Swift

Mark Imperial and UK DJ Darren Emerson. Darren has been spinning Mark's records since 1988, before going on to join the famed group Underworld.

Mark with Maurice Joshua, producer and remixer of monster artists like Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and the Backstreet Boys. Maurice came to fame in 1989 with his track "This is Acid". A native of Chicago, he is a true pioneer.

Mark with the super producer Steve "Silk" Hurley. Another Chicago native, and label mate of Mark's when they both recorded for DJ International Records in 1985. Steve has gone on to produce mega such as Ce Ce Peniston, and remixed tracks for almost every famous artist you can name.

Mark with Chris Cox, half of the famed Thunderpuss Duo. Almost every club track you hear on the dance floor has their signature production. Barry Harris was not present, but we have to say Kudos, as his former group Kon Kan is one of Mark's favorite tracks.

Up and coming Dance Artist "Calanit" makes a lot of noise this year at the conference.

Boy George DJs the closing night party in South Beach.

Steve Silk Hurley stops for a quick pic with House Nation Partner DJ Phil K. Swift.
